Welcome to Octagon Villa by Pura Villas, a private four-bedroom home in the hills above Uvita, surrounded by tropical jungle and overlooking Marino Ballena National Park, the Pacific Ocean and the mountains of Costa Ballena.
Mornings here begin with birdsong and wildlife moving through the surrounding forest. During the day, the terraces and open living spaces look toward the ocean and the distinctive Whale’s Tail below. In the evening, the villa becomes a quiet place to gather and watch the sunset over the Pacific.
Octagon Villa has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and accommodates up to eight guests. The home and its outdoor spaces are completely private for your group.
The Space
Living Area
The kitchen, dining area and living room come together in one open space, creating a central gathering area for the group. Guests have especially enjoyed the views from the porch and terrace, along with the glass-enclosed dining space and the option of eating outside. Locally made art and characterful furniture give the home its own personality.
Kitchen and Dining
The villa includes a kitchen for guest use, along with indoor dining space and outdoor areas where you can enjoy meals while looking across the surrounding landscape. An outdoor grill is also available.
Primary Suite
The largest bedroom includes a soaking tub, a hanging net and a breakfast bar.
Suite Two
The second suite has its own private bathroom.
Suite Three
The third suite also has its own private bathroom.
Bedroom Four
The fourth bedroom is smaller and does not have an en-suite bathroom. This bedroom does not have air conditioning.
Outdoor Living
The heated swimming pool has a glass infinity edge overlooking Marino Ballena National Park and the Whale’s Tail. Around the villa are private terraces and gardens where you can spend time outdoors while taking in the Pacific, mountain and jungle views. The property also has a private on-site waterfall.
Wildlife is part of the setting. Monkeys, toucans and macaws are commonly seen around the property, and guests have described watching wildlife directly from the terrace.

Octagon Villa is located in the hills above Uvita in Costa Ballena, Puntarenas. From its elevated jungle setting, the villa looks across Marino Ballena National Park, including the Whale’s Tail, toward the Pacific Ocean and the mountains surrounding Uvita.

A 4x4 vehicle is required for the mountain road to the villa, particularly during the rainy season.
This is a tropical jungle setting. Wildlife is common, and occasional insects can make their way into the property despite regular upkeep.
Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am. The minimum stay is three nights.
